Chlorine concentration determines what a solution can kill and how quickly. Common targets: 200 ppm for food-contact sanitising, 1,000 ppm for healthcare surfaces, 10,000 ppm for blood spills.
Why it matters
Wrong concentration means wrong outcome. Too low fails to kill; too high corrodes surfaces and irritates skin and airways.
Practical applications
Verify concentration with test strips at the start of each shift and when solutions look depleted or heavily soiled.
