Air-particle counting may be used as part of environmental assessment in applications such as: operating theatres; other controlled healthcare environments where specified; ventilation-system assessment; HEPA-filter performance assessment; post-engineering or construction verification; environmental investigations; and other controlled environments governed by applicable requirements or standards. The testing method, sampling locations, operating conditions, particle-size ranges and acceptance criteria should follow the requirements applicable to the environment being assessed.
