Corrective Action

Corrective action is the structured step that follows a failed hygiene check. It typically includes investigating the affected area, recleaning or reprocessing, retesting, and—where a failure recurs—reviewing procedures, equipment design or training. Effective corrective actions are documented and closed out.

Monitoring data has no value without a defined response. A hygiene programme that records failures but does not act on them is data collection, not risk management.
