# Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate (NaDCC)

chemistry 

A solid chlorine-releasing compound used in tablet form for disinfection and sanitisation.

## Definition

NaDCC dissolves in water to release hypochlorous acid — the same active biocide as liquid bleach — at a controlled, predictable concentration.

## Why it matters

Tablet-form NaDCC removes the dosing variability, storage volume, and handling hazards of liquid bleach while delivering equivalent or better efficacy.

## Practical applications

One tablet in a specified water volume yields a known ppm. Prepare fresh solutions daily; discard after 24 hours.
